Graduate students can pursue a Ph.D. in Geography, along with an optional specialization: Climate and Environmental Change or Information Systems and Remote Sensing. Meet our faculty View our research Our five subfields Cities, Development, + Justice + Climate + Environmental Change + Food + Agriculture + GIS + Remote Sensing + Water Resources + Departmental news Mike Dwyer's work appears in a forthcoming special issue of Political Geography on China’s Belt and Road Initiative: Views from the Ground Rebecca Lave and John Baeten, director of the department's new Historical Landscapes Lab, received a seed grant to develop a novel interdisciplinary approach to the study of historical wetland loss in the Midwest Ishan Ashutosh published a new article in Geography Compass Taehee Hwang recevied the 2018 WRR Editors' Choice Award Kurt Waldman published new research in the journal Climatic Change on how farmers’ decisions are influenced by climate change Ishan Ashutosh published an article on diaspora students in Progress in Human Geography, the top-ranked journal in human geography Olga Kalentzidou received a grant to develop the Edible Education course Rebecca Lave spent a week at Cambridge as a Distinguished International Visiting Fellow Justin Maxwell recently received the John Russell Mather Paper of the Year Award from the Climate Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers.
